Getting Started

Solitude Morgan Horse Rescue was an idea in 2009 which went under construction in 2010 and received a 501(c)3 private foundation designation in early 2011.  The idea came about after an encounter at the Southern States Regional Morgan Horse Show with a representative of Forever Morgans, www.forevermorgans.org, a networking rescue organization which identifies and places Morgans in need into foster care or directly into adoptive homes.   In 2013, a second Morgan networking rescue organization headquartered near Dallas TX began operations as www.morgansafenet.com.  Solitude is a two-barn operation which helps Morgans recover from abuse and neglect and through training, placement into adoptive homes.  We work with other rescue organizations to get Morgans safe and rehomed.

EXPANSION  IN  NOVEMBER  2015 has made the long-term residents very happy - more grass, more shade, more just being a horse.  And  for those under 4, a big field full of buddies to grow and play with until training time.

Please call our barn manager at 540-395-4805 between 8-1 Monday-Friday,  leave a message  or fill out our contact form.
